Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF) is one of the world’s leading education-focused NGOs. Its goal is to transform Cambodia’s most impoverished children into tomorrow's leaders, by delivering education, family support and community development programs into the heart of the country’s most impoverished communities. This award-winning, highly rated NGO supports more than 2,000 students and 10,000 people annually, supporting entire families and communities in crisis through an innovative set of programs and initiatives.
CCF operates in Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh, supported by strong links with its primary fundraising markets in the USA, Australia, UK, and Hong Kong. It has grown rapidly since its inception and is currently working to ensure its communications reflecting the excellence of its results and the innovation of its programs. To support this development, CCF is currently looking for a dynamic and exciting candidate to fill the positions as below.
About “English Teacher”
English Teacher is responsible for teaching, monitoring, and observing student’s development. He/she must teach with a clear objective which follows the course outline/ curriculum and employ a variety of teaching and learning strategies that make learning fun yet challenge those who need it and support those having difficulties. The teacher must be able to cooperate as part of a teaching team to plan lessons that meet students’ needs, interests and abilities. CCF students come from impoverished backgrounds and the teacher must be able to promote a nurturing atmosphere to support student’s emotional well-being and positive social interaction. In addition, the teacher is expected to evaluate students and communicate student progress effectively, both orally and in writing with relevant staff. The position of English teacher requires individuals to be flexible and willing to improve, learn and reflect upon their own professional performance as they strive to maintain and improve their own professional competencies.

- Cooperate as a member of a teaching team to plan lessons that meet individual students’ needs, interests and abilities.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Promote a nurturing atmosphere to support the student’s emotional well-being and positive social interaction.
- Prepare daily lesson plans and establish clear learning objectives. These shall be based on the CCF curriculum, making use of core teaching resources and supplementary materials.
- Encourage students to set and maintain appropriate standards of classroom behavior through the creation of classroom agreements that outline expected behaviors inside and outside the classroom.
- Give advice and talk to individual to students who have not followed classrooms agreements and expectations. Suggest ideas to help them be better students.
- Report any concerns or issues regarding student behavior, health, hygiene or well-being to the relevant staff
- Work with the e-Learning facilitator in teaching English/Maths and preparing e-learning lessons together
- Visibly ethical, able to demonstrate CCF values in day-to-day work
- Teaching Methodology
- English Proficiency (At least GEP Level 9A at ACE or equivalent qualification)
- TESOL
- Counseling skills
- Be honest and trustworthy
- Be respectful and helpful
- Take responsibility
- Be flexible and committed
- ICT Skills (Microsoft word and Excel, internet and Email)
- Working Hour: Monday – Saturday
Remunerations
CCF provides successful candidates a competitive salary based on job and potential. It offers annual salary increase plus other benefits such as Annual Bonus, 24-hour Insurance, Provident Fund Scheme, Indemnity, and Friendly Working Environment with other HR policies paralleling to Cambodian Labor Law. The successful candidate will become part of an integrated team working together as ONE CCF.
