BBC Media Action is the BBC’s international development charity. It has had an office in Cambodia since 2003. The Contractor will be working on the UNDP-funded Multimedia Initiative, ‘Klahan9’. It aims to support young Cambodian people to improve their life by providing information about employment, economic security / opportunities and negotiating with family and other decision makers around jobs.

KEY TASKS AND TIMEFRAME

  • Successfully assist the Director of Photography and camera operators related to all lighting work required for the shooting of the Klahan9 series.
  • Work closely with the Producer/Director, Director of Photography and/or Camera Operators to assist with the lighting in order to achieve the shooting.
  • Consult with the Producer/Director and Director of Photography to understand and interpret each scene of the Klahan9 show in order to determine the most appropriate lighting for the scenes as per the camera angles, lenses and movement.
  • Responsible for handling and maintaining the lighting equipment.
  • All work on this assignment to be completed by 12th December 2017.
  • The Contractor may be required to work irregular hours, weekends on holidays without any additional remuneration or fee.

ACCOUNTABILITY AND REPORTING SYSTEM

  • The Contractor will work under the overall guidance and advisory support of the TV Series Producer.

  • Experience in performing lighting for shooting of TV.
  • Competence in working closely with the Producer/Director to bring his/her vision to life through appropriate lighting support.
  • Experience and competence in lighting for Canon 5D Mark II and Mark III DSLR cameras and lenses.
  • Fluency in Khmer.
  • Professional English language skills.
