The Cambodian Journalists Alliance Association (CamboJA) is an independent, membership-based association committed to promoting press freedom and strengthening public-interest journalism in Cambodia. Through partnerships with donors, media development organizations, civil society, and other stakeholders, CamboJA implements capacity development initiatives to enhance the professional skills, ethical standards, safety, and resilience of journalists and media workers.To support the growing scope of these initiatives, CamboJA is inviting applications for the following positions:
- Program and activity support
- Assist the Capacity Development Specialist in preparing work plans, activity schedules, agendas, concept notes, participant lists, training materials, and other documents for capacity development activities.
- Support logistical arrangements for trainings, workshops, consultations, mentoring sessions, and other program activities, including venue coordination, materials preparation, registration, refreshments, and travel arrangements.
- Assist with participant communication, including invitations, confirmations, reminders, attendance tracking, and follow-up messages.
- Documentation, monitoring, and reporting support
- Collect, organize, and file activity documents, including attendance sheets, photos, evaluation forms, consent forms, training materials, and other supporting documents.
- Enter and clean monitoring data, including participant information, pre- and post-test results, feedback forms, and activity outputs, under the guidance of the Capacity Development Specialist and MEAL Specialist.
- Support preparation of short activity notes, draft reports, success stories, learning notes, and other documentation required for internal and donor reporting.
- Communication and coordination support
- Coordinate with internal teams, trainers, consultants, participants, and partners as requested to support smooth implementation of activities.
- Assist in drafting simple correspondence, announcements, invitation letters, meeting notes, and internal updates in Khmer and English.
- Support translation and proofreading of basic documents between Khmer and English when required.
- Administrative support
- Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy filing systems for capacity development activities.
- Support procurement, finance, and administrative documentation related to activities, in coordination with relevant staff and in line with CamboJA policies.
- Perform other relevant tasks assigned by the Capacity Development Specialist, Program Director, or management team.
- English - Good
- Khmer - Good
- Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, media studies, development studies, education, social sciences, international relations, or another relevant field.
- Previous internship, volunteer, university project, or part-time experience in program support, communications, event coordination, research, media, civil society, or development work.
- Experience assisting with workshops, trainings, meetings, field activities, data entry, documentation, or social media communication is desirable.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet research tools, and online meeting platforms.
- Interest in journalism, media development, press freedom, civil society, and capacity development work in Cambodia.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage simple tasks and deadlines with guidance.
- Good communication skills in Khmer and English, including basic writing, translation, and note-taking skills.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, respect for confidentiality, and ability to work respectfully with diverse people.
