Established since 1948, ChildFund Korea has been working in South Korea to protect children's rights and help children suffering from poverty and disease, and started global programs to create a World where children are happy since 1997. ChildFund Korea has become a member of ChildFund Alliance since 2002. ChildFund Alliance is a network of 11 child-focused development and humanitarian organizations working in 70 countries around the world.
ChildFund Korea focuses on advocacy activities to protect the rights of all children, strengthen welfare programs based on children’s rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of Children, actively respond to social issues, humanitarian aids, and other critical issues for children such as Education, Public Health, WASH, Climate Change, and strive to ensure children’s rights.
ChildFund Korea’s Country Office in Cambodia is currently piloting Boeung Trabek Child Development Project (BT CDP) in Phnom Penh, with the goal of breaking the vicious cycle of poverty experienced by vulnerable children in Boeung Trabek slum area. The project adopts a community-based, multi-sectoral approach that integrates community and center-based childcare services. Through this, the project aims to build a sustainable support system encompassing education, health, WASH, nutrition, and child protection.
We are seeking to employe a qualified candidate for the positions below:
- Child Development Project Coordinator (1 Position)
- Leadership & Overall Project Coordination (50%):
- Establish and manage the Child Development Center and related facilities, including infrastructure, staffing, and operational systems.
- Coordinate the overall planning, implementation, and financial management of the Boeung Trabek Child Development Project (BT CDP)
- Supervise project staff and ensure alignment with organizational standards and child development approaches.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships (25%):
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to establish an integrated, community-based support system.
- Facilitate effective coordination and communication with partners to ensure aligned service delivery and joint accountability.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (25%):
- Monitor project performance, ensure quality control and manage data to support evidence-based decision making.
- Facilitate reporting, learning, and donor communications to promote transparency and project improvement.
- Build and maintain feedback and accountability mechanisms to support child participation and community responsiveness.
- Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, International Development, Public Health, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of sponsorship-based programming, donor relations and compliance and principles.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, child rights, and child safeguarding.
- Familiarity with national standards and regulations related to childcare services is a significant advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, specifically in child sponsorship program, early childhood development, education, or social protection.
- Demonstrated ability in supervising, mentoring, and leading a team of field staff.
- Proven experience in project cycle management (planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, reporting).
- Experience working with vulnerable children and underserved poor urban communities.
- Hands-on experience in innovative group sponsorship model and case management, including use of software systems (i.e. child-sponsorship management system).
- Qualifications and Competencies:
- Proven supervisory and team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to produce clear, concise, and high-quality reports.
- Competence in data collection, analysis, and interpretation with relevant skills in data management system software (e.g. Kobo toolbox, SPSS).
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and case management system software.
- Fluency in Khmer and English (written and spoken).
- Deep commitment to the well-being and holistic development of children.
- Upholds a high standard of integrity, professionalism, and adherence to humanitarian principles.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Adaptability and resilience in complex and challenging environments.
- Culturally sensitive and effective in cross-cultural communication.
- Honesty, integrity, respect for protocol, and professional attitude in all duties.
- Stewardship of all funds and resources managed by the organization.
