The mission of the Fondation is to fight the infectious diseases that affect vulnerable populations in developing countries, especially mothers and children, by building local capacities.
We work in over 20 countries worldwide, in regions prone to infectious outbreaks focusing on four objectives:
Increasing vulnerable populations’ access to diagnostics Enhancing local applied research capabilities Encouraging knowledge-sharing and public health initiatives Improving conditions for mothers and children
To address major public health threats in Cambodia, we provide our expertise in infectious diseases, training clinical biologists and strengthening the national laboratory network, particularly by renovating clinical diagnostic laboratories.
Notably, we have built and equipped the Laboratory Rodolphe Mérieux in the University of Health Sciences, and continue supporting its mission. We support healthcare workforce enhancement and reforms programmes, and the national medical biology laboratory network.
- Country Manager
- Strategic Leadership & National Development
- Develop and implement a country-specific strategy aligned with the organization’s global and regional mission and objectives.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for growth, innovation, and partnerships to enhance the organization’s impact at the national level.
- Partnership Development & Stakeholder Engagement
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with government bodies, donors, NGOs, and other local stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at national forums, conferences, and advocacy events.
- Program & Project Management
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs to ensure their effectiveness, sustainability, and alignment with national priorities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and the country’s legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratory in Cambodia
- SSupport the Laboratory in updating and implementing its midterm strategic plan.
- Serve as the interface between the Laboratory and the Fondation Mérieux headquarters to optimize the financial and technical support.
- People and Risk Management
- Manage the in-country team.
- Identify and address risks that could affect the organization’s operations or reputation in the country.
Education
- Master’s or doctorate degree in public health, medicine, epidemiology, health economics, or related disciplines.
- A bachelor’s degree in these areas with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is considered as an equivalent.
Experience
- At least 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in public health related program/project management, with financial oversight, is required.
- Demonstrated experience in diagnostic system strengthening and laboratory management is a great asset.
- Solid practical experience in working with the international NGOS, UN, local NGOs, civil society and public sector is desired.
- Prior experience in public health or national health policy dialogue/development at a high level is an asset, in particular in Cambodia.
Language
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of French is an asset.
