  • Residential Care & Daily Operations
  • Supervise and support residents through all daily routines — morning wake-up, meals, hygiene, activities, and bedtime
  • Maintain a safe, clean, structured, and emotionally warm home environment at all times
  • Enforce shelter rules, schedules, and house protocols consistently and fairly
  • Conduct regular room and safety checks; report maintenance, security, or hygiene issues immediately
  • Support or administer medication as directed by health staff, with accurate records kept
  • Prepare and serve meals, or supervise resident meal preparation during life skills sessions
  • Trauma-Informed Survivor Support
  • Engage residents exclusively through trauma-informed, survivor-centered, non-judgmental approaches
  • Provide calm emotional support during moments of distress — apply de-escalation techniques before escalating
  • Recognize trauma triggers, flashbacks, and behavioral warning signs; respond with appropriate care
  • Model healthy relationships, respectful boundaries, and positive communication in all interactions
  • Participate in regular reflective practice sessions and peer supervision meetings
  • Case Management Support
  • Assist the case management team with intake observations, daily behavior tracking, and care plan implementation
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential resident records, daily logs, and incident reports
  • Attend case conferences and contribute relevant observations on resident wellbeing and progress
  • Support referrals to health, legal, psychological, or vocational services as directed by case managers
  • Life Skills & Programming
  • Facilitate structured life skills sessions: personal hygiene, cooking, budgeting, communication, goal-setting
  • Organize and support recreational, creative, or therapeutic activities that promote healing and confidence
  • Co-facilitate group sessions under supervision of clinical or program staff
  • Support residents' access to non-formal learning, vocational, or educational activities
  • Child Safeguarding & Confidentiality
  • Strictly uphold Marici Cambodia's Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct at all times, on and off shift
  • Report any suspected abuse, exploitation, or safeguarding concern immediately to the designated safeguarding officer
  • Never share resident identities, information, photos, or case details with any unauthorized person
  • Apply the principle of 'Do No Harm' — zero tolerance for any form of punishment or humiliation
  • Shift Coordination & Handover
  • Complete thorough written shift handover reports — all incidents, observations, and follow-up items clearly documented
  • Communicate daily with the on-duty Coordinator regarding resident status, incidents, and emerging concerns
  • Arrive on time for every shift — unexplained absence or tardiness is treated as a serious disciplinary matter
  • Support emergency response procedures as trained, including evacuation and crisis protocols

Languages:
  • Khmer - Fluent is required
  • English - Basic is preferred
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or Community Development is preferred
Work History:
  • Children, youth, or survivors in care or social work settings for 1 to 2 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:General & Technical Skills
  • Diploma with strong relevant experience will be considered.
  • Prior shelter or residential care experience strongly preferred. CSE/trafficking survivor experience is a significant asset.
  • Child rights frameworks; trauma-informed care principles; Cambodia child protection and legal context; referral and case management systems.
  • De-escalation and crisis intervention; empathetic and clear communication; accurate record-keeping and report writing; basic computer literacy.
  • Khmer: fluent (required). English: basic to intermediate for documentation and team coordination.

  • Emotionally resilient — able to provide consistent care without compassion fatigue or boundary violations
  • Calm, patient, and non-reactive under pressure — especially during crisis moments

  • Culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities
  • Reliable and punctual — fully committed to rotating shift responsibilities including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Genuine team player who communicates proactively and supports colleagues during difficult shifts
