MIRO is a local NGO, founded in 2012. MIRO is to defend and promote human right and seek development for ethnic minority groups and Khmer Krom and contribute to their prosperity and social participation. Funded by Heinrich Böll Foundation (HBF), MIRO currently is looking for a qualified candidate to fill in the position fo below. S/he will be directly responsible to the Deputy Director.
The position is implementing a project for the empowerment of marginalized Khmer Krom women to gender equality and political participation and be involving project management, develop curriculum/action plan, organize and provide training workshop, investigeation/follow-up domestic violance case, conduct legal support and advocacy activities in cooperation with provincial and team work.
- Plan, coordinate and implement program activities through working directly and closely with affected minority members, the management team and other stakeholders;
- Train target group/network members on human rights issues, gender equality, political participation, and advocacy skills;
- Provide legal assistance and advice;
- Plan and implement effective advocacy and/or intervention activities;
- Conduct Investigation and follow-up on women rights cases;
- Write press releases, statements and petitions;
- Compile quarterly and final reports to donor; and
- Other tasks as required by the management.
- Degree in Law or relevant development field;
- Knowledge of government policy and international and national human rights;
- Have at least 2 years of work experience as project officer for a local NGO;
- Proven track record as trainer, preferably on gender equality;
- Proven track record of project management, TOT, and facilitation skills;
- Unprejudiced against Khmer Krom and other minority groups;
- Analytical skills and ability to develop goals and visions;
- Willingness to work on weekends and upon requirement;
- Good written and oral communications skills in both Khmer and English;
- Independent and responsible working style;
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point etc.).
- Honest, responsible, committed and open‐minded;
- Willing to closely work in a small multi-cultural team.
