Ratanak International is a Christian organization based in Canada, for over 30 years, working in Cambodia to support individuals and communities vulnerable to human trafficking and unsafe migration. Through community-based approaches, Ratanak partners with churches, communities, and local stakeholders to promote safe livelihoods, dignity, and long-term transformation.
Ratanak International is seeking a Senior Intake Specialist to coordinate and support a team implementing the Trafficking Vulnerability in the Transitional Care Project. This role provides support for the process of enrolment trafficker across borders, provides technical oversight, and partnership development to ensure high-quality support for individuals during the period of transition both in the transitional care and in the community base care.
- Team Leadership and Staff Management
- Provide clear leadership, direction, and support to Transformational Development Officers, ensuring staff understand expectations, standards, and priorities.
- Support staff capacity development through coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and skills development.
- Organize and facilitate regular team meetings, reflections, and planning sessions to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Monitor staff workloads, wellbeing, and performance, addressing challenges and escalating concerns as required.
- Quality Oversight of Client Support and Career Development
- Oversee the quality and timeliness of surveys used to identify and select individuals vulnerable to trafficking and volunteers.
- Oversee the quality and timeliness of client needs assessments and individualized career development planning.
- Ensure consistent delivery of career guidance, soft skills training, and trafficking prevention education to clients and community networks.
- Oversee client support before and during vocational training, employment placements, agriculture, livestock, or micro-enterprise activities, engaging with employers or partners to resolve issues as needed.
- Ensure effective monitoring and assessment of client progress toward agreed goals, supporting staff to revise plans and interventions based on evidence and learning.
- Market Assessment and Economic Partnership Development
- Conduct and oversee local market assessments to identify viable employment, agriculture, livestock, and micro-enterprise opportunities.
- Conduct surveys to identify potential economic partners at national and local levels.
- Develop and progress partnerships with employers, training providers, agricultural actors, and micro-enterprise stakeholders that support client career pathways.
- Community Engagement and Stakeholder Coordination
- Identify, engage, and facilitate training to local churches, community leaders, and community stakeholders willing to support vulnerable clients and trafficking prevention efforts.
- Maintain positive, constructive relationships with relevant government bodies, NGOs, churches, and private sector partners.
- Support coordination and collaboration between community stakeholders, prevention hubs, and project staff to strengthen local systems that prevent unsafe migration and exploitation.
- Project Management, Documentation, and Reporting
- Assist in the development, review, and improvement of project documentation, tools, and guidelines for the Trafficking Vulnerability Prevention Project.
- Approve project spending within delegated authority, ensuring funds are used efficiently and in line with organizational policies.
- Identify and communicate any financial or operational risks to relevant managers.
- Provide clear, accurate information and inputs for reports to Ratanak International Headquarters (Canada), other country offices, and relevant Cambodian government offices, ensuring compliance with agreed standards and timelines.
- Monitoring, Learning, and Continuous Improvement
- Ensure high-quality data collection and record-keeping across client support, community engagement, and partnership activities.
- Contribute to reflection processes, lessons learned, and best practices to strengthen project effectiveness and sustainability.
- Engage in ongoing personal and professional development to maintain strong knowledge of vocational development, economic empowerment, career guidance, and trafficking prevention.
- Model and promote Ratanak’s values and ethical standards in all aspects of work.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the line manager in support of project objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in agriculture, business administration, social science, or another relevant field.
- At least of experience working in agriculture/economic development and/or social work for 3 to 5 years
- Able to work with a wide range of organizations and the government
- Good understanding of using computers for main work tasks
- Experience and knowledge of trafficking and exploitation issues and project management.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- English competency in writing, listening, and speaking is appreciated.
- Active membership in a church community.
