Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh (SISPP) is "A School like no other in Cambodia". SISPP offers a British style education based on the National Curriculum of England for pupils in primary and secondary school.
Our school is the newest member of the Shrewsbury family of schools to open for business, and our business is the 'serious fun' of learning. We are deeply connected to one of the most prestigious schools in the UK, Shrewsbury School, which is almost 500 years old and has nurtured distinguished alumni such as the famous naturalist Charles Darwin.
Our primary school opened in 2022 and this year, in September 2026, our new world class school, for all age groups, will open in a spectacular 7 hectare campus in Sen Sok.

We are now looking for qualified candidates to fulfill the positions below:
- Strategic Leadership and Management
- The Head School Nurse operates as a member of the school’s professional management team, with responsibilities that extend beyond clinical care:
- Policy Development: Driving the creation, periodic review, and rigorous implementation of school-wide health, hygiene, and medical emergency policies.
- Fiscal Accountability: Accountable for the fiscal management and cost-effective procurement of the medical department’s operational budget, including all medical supplies and resources required for student health and snack preparation.
- Team Supervision: Providing professional guidance and oversight for health-related staff and the teams responsible for daily student snack preparation.
- Strategic Consultation: Driving the school's health strategy through expert clinical consultation and contributing medical insights to long-term health and safety planning.
- Clinical Practice and Student Health Management
- Emergency Care and Treatment
- Administering immediate first aid and emergency medical treatment for acute illnesses and injuries occurring on-site.
- Utilizing expert clinical judgement to assess and manage common childhood illnesses and injuries.
- Coordinating and managing referrals to external medical providers and clinics, ensuring seamless transitions of care.
- Overseeing the safe administration of prescribed medications in strict accordance with school policy and parental consent.
- Health Record Administration
- Maintaining comprehensive, up-to-date, and confidential electronic health records, including allergy profiles, immunization status, and chronic medical conditions.
- Developing and implementing robust Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with complex or specific medical needs.
- Ensuring all student interactions, first aid treatments, and parent communications are documented with precision for legal and clinical compliance.
- Health Promotion and Environmental Safety
- Environmental Safety and Air Quality: Executing high-stakes monitoring of air quality and triggering the school’s response protocols and communications in accordance with environmental health policies.
- Health Education: Designing and delivering evidence-based health education programmes for students and staff, focusing on hygiene, nutrition, mental health, and disease prevention.
- Infection Control: Enforcing rigorous infection control protocols and proactively identifying and mitigating environmental health hazards.
- Nutritional Oversight: Providing clinical oversight for daily snack preparation, ensuring strict adherence to nutritional standards and allergen safety protocols to support a healthy diet.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management
- The Head Nurse serves as the primary liaison for the school’s health-related communications:
- Parents: Serving as the lead contact for health concerns, maintaining the ability to deal assertively with stakeholders while communicating with clarity, respect, and professional diplomacy.
- Staff and Teachers: Collaborating closely with teachers and pastoral leaders to ensure an integrated approach to student support and wellbeing.
- External Providers: Managing and cultivating professional relationships with local clinics and healthcare professionals.
- Experience in clinical, pediatric, emergency, or community health, preferably within an international school environment for 5 years
- Registered Nurse with a valid license to practice (CCN)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a healthcare environment
- Proven experience in health promotion and the delivery of educational programmes
- Expert clinical assessment skills and deep knowledge of common childhood illnesses and injuries
- Professional fluency in English (written and spoken) with the ability to communicate complex medical information clearly
- High level of IT proficiency, specifically with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and maintain fiscal accountability for departmental budgets.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with absolute discretion and maintain professional confidentiality.
- A caring, compassionate nature with a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of children.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work, capable of responding to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethics and a proactive commitment to continuous professional development.
