The United States Peace Corps (website) is a non-political, non-religious organization of the US government that brings Americans to Cambodia to serve as Peace Corps Volunteers. The Peace Corps serves in Cambodia at the invitation of the Government of Cambodia and working closely with Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport with a goal to improve the English language skills of teachers and students. - Backup Medical Provider
- Direct patient care and/or referrals to outside medical consultants or facilities for Peace Corps Volunteers
- Diagnosis and treatment of acute medical conditions in an out-patient clinic
- 24-hour on-call rotations to respond to and manage volunteer medical emergencies
- Provide health education to trainees/volunteers
- Serve as back-up Peace Corps Medical Officer (PCMO) when primary PCMOs are traveling or otherwise unavailable
- Administrative duties related to documentation of volunteer care, treatment, etc.
- QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited school
- For physicians who received their medical education overseas they must be a graduate of a World Directory of Medical Schools listed school (https://search.wdoms.org)
- Nurse Practitioners must maintain an Advance Practice Nursing valid license with certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Minimum of two years of unsupervised clinical experience
- Current license to practice in Cambodia
- Relevant primary care experience in a professional practice, hospital or clinic setting
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral/written English
- Hardworking, reliable and diligent with good inter-personal skills
- Willing to travel to provinces
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Cross-cultural experience with patients from other countries
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office programs
- Experience in managing mental health issues including counseling of patients
- Khmer language skills

- Professional licenses. If the license does not have an expiration date, written confirmation must be submitted directly from the issuing authority. Please note, if a license is not required, rather, the medical diploma is the license to practice, written confirmation, issued directly from the professional medical board, Ministry of Health or other appropriate regulatory authority establishing that the candidate is properly credentialed for medical practice, is required.
