Wathnakpheap (WP) is a local Cambodian NGO which was localised from International NGO, SKIP (Pestalozzi Children Village’s Foundation) and was registered with the Government since 1997. Wathnakpheap has more 20 years extensive experience working with a variety of partners, including local NGOs, international NGOs, and private companies, and for a wide range of donors, including government agencies, multilateral organisations and corporate foundations. WP has been implementing projects for 6 programs areas such as 1) Community Led Child Nutrition; 2) Education for better life; 3) Good Governance and Civic Engagement; 4) Resilient Livelihood; 5) Women Entrepreneurship and 6) Sustainable institution.
Currently, we are seeking 9 qualified candidates to fill a position as the following below:
- Ensure timely implementation of project activities according to work plans developed with project management.
- Facilitate communication with local authorities, local child-related committees;
- Work in partnership with the local authority and DoA (Department of Agriculture), District of Agriculture , Commune of Agriculture
- Select model farmers and provide capacity building on climate-smart home-based food production.
- Establish and strengthen parents-caregivers groups and train them on MNCHN and other relevant topics
- Support core parents to organize parent and caregiver groups meetings
- Facilitate with father groups to promote male engagement in MNCHN
- Support household dialogues (mothers & fathers) on transformation of harmful gender norms include shared MNCHN roles
- Organize interactive-gender transformative community events and campaigns on MNCHN and food fairs
- Train and coach, the producer groups for improving productivities for market demand.
- Provide and ongoing consultation to target families, who have completed the home gardening training and are ready to establish home gardens according to their business plan.
- Follow-up and post training support to the trained families (engaged in home gardening and food processing) - provide technical consultation, coaching and any necessary supports to the individual families
- Work with Project Manager and relevant staff to conduct training on livelihood based on designed training curricular.
- Coordinate with Project Manager for technical training, as needed.
- Follow up training activities at field level and document its results or experiences, lessons learned from project implementation process.
- Submit Activity Note of any event, weekly, monthly Project Manager.
- Keep monitoring of the progress, collect data appropriately and timely.
- Assist the project manager to identify the gaps in M&E aspect and reporting as needed.
- Provide support to Project Manager to complete the tracking tool and keep the manager aware of significant change under their designated project.
- Khmer - Good is required
- English - Good is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture (agronomy and/or veterinary) or Business or a related field is required
- Experience with Agriculture, Livelihood for 2 years as a minimum
- An understanding of livelihood and Agriculture and capacity to generate dialogue among a diverse range of groups.
- Proven ability in the community mobilize, development and transfer knowledge to community people especially indigenous people.
- Possesses the sound understanding and skills on climate smart/sustainable agriculture especially skills on establishing small scale family based climate smart/sustainable home gardening/homestead food productions, and facilitating farmer field schools.
- Fluency in local languages and English is preferred
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Internet and Email).
- Able to drive a motorbike on difficult roads.
- Climate Smart concept
- Leadership qualities, communication and team skills (including mediation and conflict resolution).
- Must be willing to live in area of project intervention.
- Be patient and have good work commitment.
